Aerith's in the same mood I get when I need to get black-out drunk. But instead of alcohol, she's choosing to get bitten by one of the vampires here. And if I know that mood - which I do - I know that embarrassing her or forcing her to confront the problem is going to make it worse.
The thing that got me out of it was having a purpose. A reason to get up and make trouble again.
