It's a short memory showing Black ("Sebastian", apparently!) outside in a garden, together with a young boy, maybe thirteen years old? The boy enthusiastically announces that the peas are growing! Black congratulates him on a job well done. It's all very wholesome. The kid is adorable.
(Ahem. Yes, the canon scene is narrated by a hidden assassin, because of course it is. Please ignore that.)
It's the cute child from the last memory again! This time, he's in the company of two adults, a man and a woman (fellow servants, possibly?). All three are congratulating Sebastian on something - the man hangs off his shoulders in a friendly way and he quite possibly is hugged by the child. He tolerates this.
Then, an obviously Indian man approaches, kneels before Sebastian and begs his forgiveness. Sebastian gently responds that there's nothing to forgive and to please get up.
At the end of the memory, the Indian man concludes that he is glad he and his prince traveled to England; that they both were able to make good friends. Sebastian is... clearly taken aback at being called someone's friend, replying that no one has ever said something like that to him before. But he doesn't seem to mind.
This time it's an indoors scene, in what looks like the master bedroom in a mansion. Sebastian knocks before entering, bringing with him a serving trolley. "You should eat something", he tells the child in the bed - a thin, bruised-looking boy of maybe ten. Why he's only bringing a cup of hot milk and thinks of that as "food" is anyone's guess. The child refuses as first, saying it'll probably taste awful. Sebastian asks him to please try it; he himself can't tell if it tastes good or not. This sorry-looking child looks so sad when he asks for honey, and Sebastian gently responds that he may add as much as he wants.
(Also, the kid's right eye? Nothing weird about it! Looks maybe a little out of focus. Very mysterious, that.)
It's outside, somewhere on the manor ground, in the middle of the night. Six trespassers (assassins, of course; always these bothersome assassins) approaching the manor, approaching the window of the master bedroom.
Sebastian follows them, silently, ducking behind a tree as the leader turns back momentarily towards his men. After that it's quick work: Sebastian appears behind each man, sliding a knife into each one's neck so swiftly, and laying them down on the ground so silently, that in the end, he's taken them all down in minutes, without anyone making so much as a dying sound.
Only with the very last one does he allow himself a moment to play: locking the man to his chest from behind with one hand, resting the knife to his neck with the other, he whispers in his ear that this will not do; guests should enter properly through the front door. Savouring those brief seconds of palpable terror radiating from the man.
And then, he too is killed, with a quick, forceful stab right through the soft part of his jaw.
