But I wanted to ask for your thoughts for me looking out for him as a warden.

Maybe even as a pairing.

Hm. It has been my understanding that neither Inmates nor Wardens have a say in whom they will be paired with.

[Sebastian did try to claim Xie Lian as his warden, a long time ago, and he had nothing for it.]

You wish to guide and protect him, is that it?

You can call it an ambition, if you'd like.

Especially since he's going to be working with me in the Greenhouse.

I would like to help him, protect him, and more importantly in emergencies when we may be scattered- keep him safe.

But not without checking in with you. You know him best, and you're more experienced with the Barge than me.

Give the nature of the Barge, I will not turn down anyone who wishes to protect the young master. [There will be times when Sebastian will be incapacitated, or worse - a danger to the young master himself.]

May I ask your capabilities, Miss Aerith? [Having people to call on to assist is good. Being a capable fighter yourself is better.]

I'm a magic user, primarily.

Healing magic is my strongest, but I can create barriers, break them, and use elemental magic. I can also stop others from using magic, transform them temporarily, and force people to sleep.

I'm also experienced with finding ways to escape and have been learning...a bunch of different physical self defense since I got here.

I am aware the Admiral will refuse requests for a proper lavatory, but would he grant a request for a bathtub, and at the very least a sectioned-off area for it in the young master's cabin? Indoor plumbing would not be strictly necessary.

I'm not sure if the Admiral would grant it, but I'll give it a try.

And if that doesn't work...

Would you be open to using my bath and shower?

It's got modern plumbing, and I'd have no problem giving the two of you privacy.

Does he like any particular soaps or anything? I've been thinking of trying to make handmade soaps with some of the flowers I've been growing.

The young master's clothes require handwashing, I fear. [Sebastian was delighted to learn about washing machines and dishwashers, right up until when he realised they can't handle fine clothing or delicate china.] My own clothes are of no import, I assure you. [He wouldn't want to bother her with his own needs. Those aren't important.]

Mm... the young master prefers subtle scents, generally speaking. Lavender and rose are the ones I typically choose. It would be kind of you to make soap for him in particular, although I would not ask it of you.

But please- you might as well while you're there if your clothes can handle it. That way, you both can feel cleaner before getting some rest.

We have plenty of lavender, but I'd avoid the roses. Some people might get testy from the scent, thanks to the Amnesia potion.

I'll let you know if I have a successful batch. In the meantime- I'll make sure there's soap, shampoo and conditioner and towels ready.

The majority of my clothes are far less delicate than the young master's. If you are certain, then I humbly accept.

Thank you, miss Aerith. Given your generosity, I will be honest: my sense of taste is different from that of a human. I recognise and appreciate the offer of tea, and have no issue drinking it, but it is not something that is enjoyable for me. [So there's no real need for her to go through the effort.] The young master, however, will appreciate it.

[He does still have plenty of the Space Tea Hakkai got him, but it doesn't smell (or taste) good to humans: Sebastian would never brew it in the presence of his master.]

I'm not sure that'll be possible. There's cats all over the Barge, and we have catnip plants in the Greenhouse- where Ciel will be working.

We can ask around if you'd like- for medication or some sort of ability someone has.

We want to make sure he doesn't have his...well. Life being uncomfortable at the very least while he's here.

[Ciel will not be working in the Greenhouse: Ciel will order Sebastian to work in his stead in the Greenhouse. Sebastian doesn't correct her.

Hrm.] A daily deep-cleaning of every area the young master visits is of course an option, [This is a Reasonable and Completely Doable option as far as Sebastian's concerned! And yes, he means to do it himself, single-handedly,] but... I do suppose it is remarkable, if not surprising, that humanity has developed medicine for that sort of thing.

[He, at least, doesn't hate the idea of someone not the Admiral using their ability on the young master as much. And indeed, his master's comfort is paramount.]

I don't have a cat- but Zack's dog, Zeke, sometimes comes by. So if you see animal hair- though I hope not- you won't have to worry too much.

I will let you know. And luckily the young master is not allergic to dogs; a few strands of dog hair will be of no import.

Would tonight be acceptable? [Yes, he does consider deep-cleaning her entire bathroom on such short notice to be entirely reasonable. Although--] I would be available to help clean your bathroom beforehand.
