I've been asking around for what could be the best form of help with others in private conversations, and Tendi told me some interesting facts.

Depending on his body's reaction- how severe it is- it might be possible to make it so he won't suffer any ill effects at all thanks to drug therapy. It sounds like it'd be something either for a short while, or a minor thing ongoing.

No magic. The only problem would be is if Ciel...dies, he would have to start over.

I haven't spoken to any of the magic users yet for solutions. I am considering speaking to Ulla and Zerxus.

My magic could only help with poisoning or restoring health, like I think I mentioned before.

[In a tone so cold it could freeze bones:]

The young master having to start the treatment over will not be an issue.

[And back to his normal polite, soft-spoken tone:]

...Thank you for devoting so much time for the sake of the young master's health, Miss Aerith. I am deeply grateful.

Perhaps, once you have all available options sorted out, we might have a joint discussion - including the young master - on what route to take? Since, while I am his caregiver in a sense, the young master's own decision is final.

[Sebastian does appreciate her approaching him about this, he really does. But, at the same time, Ciel is (as far as the two of them are concerned) an adult with the right to make his own choices.]

Of course. I planned on including Ciel in the discussion, as it is his body and his final decision.

But, I didn't want to distract him from his training in the Greenhouse when we're on shift.

Admittedly I am not particularly familiar with either Miss Ulla or Mr Ileres... but please rest assured I will ensure any willing candidate is trustworthy. I will let you know what they say. Ulla, at least, may be able to create something once she has a full understanding. So her magic may be the more difficult route.

[Takes a breath, switching gears.]

It's going well. I'm training him in the knowledge of all the flowers, signs of root rot, disease, pests more as knowledge to bring with him. I'm keeping him to knowledge before easing him on physical labor.

I talked to him about physical activities before but...I was under the influence of the shoes.

I was more of a...well. Physical person, with strength to spare. Not human strength and delicate with it, like him.

[Sebastian nods to himself. That explains why the young master has yet to order him to do his job for him, if it's all been theoretical so far.

Knowledge never hurts. They could supplement with some basics about poisons, perhaps...]

It is true that the young master is delicate, but I would not mind were he to gain some physical strength. It would have to be somewhat gently introduced, however. [Sebastian doesn't believe in gentleness as a general rule, but there's the young master's asthma to consider.]

[Someone may have realized Sebastian would come around if she got Ciel to do physical labor first. Not that she minds Sebastian, but...it would kind of defeat the point of work.

Funny enough...she could teach Ciel about flower language and poisons. She's got a few growing in the Greenhouse.]

I agree. Wu Xin does the watering when I can get him to work so that's covered...

Do you have any suggestions? I don't want to push too hard too fast.

[She doesn't even know about the asthma which is just...peachy.]

The young master does fence and dance -- admittedly quite poorly, to my great shame -- so those are activities I will have him continue. Light yard work should be quite fine as long as it is not too strenuous.

[It's not like tending to a garden is improper for an earl, after all. Perfectly reasonable to leave to the servants, but not disgraceful.]

I'm sure we can arrange some small things. Or bigger yard work with bigger breaks.

But you say he fences? I think there's some people who teach sword skills, if not fencing.

I'd suggest Zack or Cloud but their swords are way too big for Ciel.

Smaller tasks would be preferable over bigger ones, according to my understanding of asthma, which admittedly is far from perfect. Overexertion tends to worsen the condition, while continuous but mild exertion is beneficial. [Granted, Sebastian's understanding of the condition is by no means perfect, seeing as Victorian medicine thought smoking was good for asthmatics.

I might ask Instructor Jedao for fencing lessons.

Asthma? I didn't know he had that.

[She's gently dismayed. That is...something to know.]

There's- he really could use something in the infirmary for that, I think. In the meantime, fencing? I'm sure it'll be good for him. I'll have him do some light carrying around maybe, for flowers we can take around the Barge.

I think...I'm not sure but...maybe steam might make it easier for him to breathe. Maybe...it'd be good for him to go where the more tropical plants are, in the Greenhouse.

Ah, he has mostly grown out of it: it is not a serious issue these days, most of the time. In the five years I have served him, it has only been a concern on two occasions.

Which is not to say I would not welcome methods of alleviation when needed, of course. I am grateful for your suggestions, and I will pass them on to the young master.

Was he under a lot of stress when it happened? Such attacks can kill. I know we can come back but it'd still be...uncomfortable.

[Traumatic, more likely. And Sebastian would go on a killing spree, maybe. She's not sure.]

There's also the sauna in the pool area. He'd have to be let in by a warden, but...considering if he gets overheated and he might pass out...that'd be a good reason not to go in alone.

As another idea. If he's interested.

Under stress, and exposed to cold weather both times, thus I suspect it was the combination that caused it.

[A moment of ice-cold silence as she brings up the risk of dying, then:] Should anything like that come even closer to happening, I shall have a discussion with the staff of the Infirmary. ["I will murder every single one of them."]

The young master would not use a sauna in the company of anyone but myself.

Then...I guess it's best to keep him in warm places until we can get something to help during emergencies.

Yes, I think most wardens would understand. And some wardens would even understand a very....deep need for physical privacy. Especially in a place like this.

Of course. I can speak to Mr Fair if he doesn't respond right away- or open the pool for you if the need is urgent.

[But she puts gentle emphasis on urgent. Just because Ciel wants it, doesn't mean it'll happen right away.]

Thank you, Miss Aerith. [He hears the emphasis for what it is, but there's little risk the young master will want to use the sauna unless his asthma is acting up, Sebastian suspects: Ciel is not a fan of extremes in anything, be it temperature or spices. ...Murder is the exception.]
