[Edward can't tell if he's choosing text as a cold shoulder tactic, or if something's actually wrong. But then he decides, no, from what he's seen, Sebastian cares quite a lot about propriety -- politeness versus rudeness, even if his lines aren't exactly as expected -- And if he wanted to cold shoulder, he probably wouldn't have responded at all.]

No offense, but somehow, I doubt that.

It was much the same as for most other people, I would think.

I did not die, should that be your concern. [No death-tolling! Sebastian just hates losing control, not being in his right mind... not to mention all the things he just blurted out, on the network for everyone to read no less.]

One person burned down the chapel. Another person posted their dick to the network.

You have to admit there's a spectrum.

And a death toll isn't the only thing I'm worried about, but it's a relief to hear.

I ended up in one physical altercation, no more.

I am uninjured. The other party will heal, I assume.

[His fight with Sweeney is really the thing he did during the flood that he's the least displeased about - Sweeney deserved that beating. It also functions as the kind of thing a warden would want to know about, and so they can not talk about the actually upsetting parts.]

[There it is. Edward doesn't know what broke through -- his point or his persistence -- but he finally has an answer.

And he has to pause a moment to think it over.

He wants to ask who with. And he will, but not yet. He doesn't think Sebastian would answer that right now, anyway, or else he would've volunteered that information already. So, let's take a different tack.]

I'm not gonna try and force it out of you. But the more you insist you're fine, the more I can't help but worry.

After a few moments, the video clicks on on Sebastian's end, too.

It shows his entire upper body: no visible injuries, no bruises, not a hair out of place, not a speck of mud on his uniform. Customer Service Smile present as usual.]

Will this do for physical proof, sir? If you wish to scold me for not playing nice with the other children, please go ahead. We have not all day, after all.

[There's a spark of irritation -- at his attitude, at his assumption. But Edward is more than practiced at setting that aside and staying focused.]

I wasn't fishing for a reason to scold or punish you. I'm a little surprised I need to explain this, but a situation can ruffle more than physical feathers. And floods can be really damn good at that.

Yeah, I'm relieved to see you aren't injured. But that wasn't the only thing I was asking about.
